I sure hope this doesn't get posted twice but I can't find my orginal post.

    Using Nero 6 Ultra

If I am burning a DVD and the file is larger than the capicity of the DVD will Nero automatically "split" the file and prompt me to insert a second disk or do I have to split the file before I burn it?

    Thanks

It usually spits out the disc and tells you to insert a bigger one. At least using Nero Burning ROM.

You didn't say how much over DVD capacity it was. You could split it into two DVDs yourself...or my preference would (and has been) to shrink down with a program such as DVDshrink, so that it will fit on one DVD.
