  1. Have any of you used dup-dvd V.2.00, it looks pretty interesting (that is if the mpeg encoder is any good.) Maybe vcdhelp could do a comparision with current encoders like tmpegenc or panasonic.

The program looks nice (just insert dvd in one drive, a blank cdr in the burner, and let it run. it will automaticly break the vcd into multiple cdr's. It has vcd 2.0 and, svcd options.) But it is a trial, so it will not do a whole dvd until you buy it. Try it guys, and tell me what you think. I want to know if I should bother investing in it. Or if some smart guy could crack it (not that I am into that sort of thing, Wink Wink)

here is a link to the web page: http://www.dup-dvd.com/

    download it here:http://www.dup-dvd.com/ddsetup.exe

  4. I tried it. It sucks!.
The mpeg quality is very bad.
Very blocky, etc. and the aspect ratio is wrong.
Also you can't choose which movie ( wide screen or normal ) from the program, because it doesn't have an option.

Waiting to try the new version of MovieJack some time early in 2002.
    It will have NTSC support.

In the meantime, RIP->XMPEG->TMPGEncoder is still the best.

  5. Hey kwag

I don't know anything about XMPEG on TMPGEn, can you tell me about it? I looked in TMPGE and can't find any ref. to XMPEG?

    Thanks,
