  1. I've been having loads of trouble copying this movie.

First, I tried DVD shrink..it would freeze due to cyclic reduncacy errors at about 25% through.

Tried DVD Decryptor...and it stop near the end vob files.

Tried DVD Fab decryptor...which didn't work because I opened those files in Shrink and one of the vobs was corrupted...

So....I installed AnyDVD..and tried Shink, Decryptor and Fab...again..no luck, got a corrputed vob at the end.

So..then I tried Fab again...this time..I took note in which vob files had errors in Shrink.

Then I went to DVD decryptor, and decrypted the original vobs of the corrputed ones into the folder.

Shrink didn't complain, and it worked

Has anyone else had problems with this movie?

Edit: No..unfortunaly that didn't work . Yes, I even tried Rejig.....and it still gets stuck on ONE file..

Baldrick is correct. I've noticed several recent movies that rip but DVD Shrink cannot see the main movie. Running it through FixVTS corrects this problem.

    I backed it up ... weeks ago ... AnyDVD ... CloneDVD2 ... DVDRebuilder ... Done

If I wasn't concerned over keeping the extra stuff ... I would have just used AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 ... and let CloneDVD2 ... do the squishing.

  8. I tried DVDfabdecryptor, and it fails to copy one of the vobs over..even *after* running AnyDVD.

And the movie plays fine otherwise ...

  9. I'm trying CloneDVD2 now..and..well..it STILL ******* stalls.

    Cyclic redundancy check.

But you're not talking about "other" movies

Just using another drive sometimes works for people having problems with one specific dvd.
I have dedicated ripping drives that i have ripped and backed up dvd's that others with "new" drives have had problems with & mine are 2-3 years old at least.
I never even use burners to rip with.

Anywho, it has to be something weird going on as this title was not a problem as far as any new copy protection.

I realize your pissed off ... but can you use some other word besides the F word ... don't get me wrong ... the F word is in my vocabulary and lots of other colorful metaphors but ... I don't use them here at DVDR Help.

You didn't mention your system or what drive you are using ... also what shape is the Disk in ... any deep scratches ... get a DVD Disk cleaning kit and get some Colgate toothpaste with baking soda and gently clean/buff the surface ... I do it all the time to revive CDs and DVDs disks.

What about a Lite-On at Walmart ... about $60 bucks or try someone else's computer to rip it ... or setup a USB 2.0 external DVD burner.

Besides the burners mounted in my computers ... I also have a Pioneer 109 mounted in a external USB 2.0 and a Plextor PX-740A mounted in a external USB 2.0 and .... for my laptop a Lite-On 1693 [I think that is the model number] from Walmart ... mounted in a external USB 2.0

Fantastic Four was done on my Wife's computer ... the DVD Drive was a Panasonic 8583 ...

  15. I was able to back up F4 easily. I think that I did it just with dvddecrypter.
me too. Sounds like you have a bad original copy. since you own the original, go to your local library and check out their copy, and make a copy as your backup.

I didn't have a problem on F4 either...I don't get fancy...just opened with DVDshrink and let it go...When I do have problems, I wax DVD to fill in scratchs. Once I had to turn off "deep analysis" to get a disc to backup. With "Bewtched" we tried everything ...even multiple PCs...I finally just gave up and outputed movie to my video capture card and then converted file back to DVD.

No problem at all with my F4 either. Piece of cake. Something is definitively wrong with your original. Used AnyDVD and Shrink. That's it.
No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD!

You did it that way ... geez ... how did the video look ... I used that option on some DRM protected videos and oh man they looked bad ... definitely not my favorite way to archive them ... and yes ... I had a subscription to the website to download videos [adult videos] ... I was really pissed off ... when they started doing this ... I don't subscribe anymore to that website.
