    hi guys, so is it possible to get rid of the censorship in the movie? been wondering about that for a while...=/

    Thankfully, we don't have a censorship board here is Australia - we have a mandatory classification board. Totally different thing

    Maybe I need to hold up a little yellow card with 'sarcasm' written on it

    But it is true. We don't censor here, we 'classify'. The board might choose to refuse to award a classification, but it does not enforce censorship. Of course, no classification, no show. But the distributer can always elect to make certain changes to the film in order to receive a classification - voluntarily, of course. And of course, the awarding of a classification is done in a consistent and not arbitrary manner, so it is easy to predict that a film like, say, Irreversible, might get an R rating while a film like, say, Ken Park for instance, might get refused. Not.
