As I capture more "stuff" I am finding that some of my sources suffer from lens smudges or sensor hot pixels that are fairly easy to identify on a given frame... are there any techniques for developing a fix for either problem, then applying it to all frames?

Smudges are tough. I haven't figured out a way short of cropping or masking.

Hot spots are usually hard clipped at white, as such they can be isolated as a key and filtered.

I tried to "Fake" hotspot removal by using overlays in avisynth to "brighten" the smudge but I couldn't get it consistent between different scenes.

I will try more on the hot spots.... thanks!
