    can anyone help???
    when i open internet explorer all i get is an empty white page and even more bizare is that internet options have vanished from the control panel.
    have scan the pc with spybot and adaware pro and mcafee but nothing untowards found

    Go to View then select source. that should bring up a notepad with source for the blank page. Copy the text if any and paste it here.

    If it's pulling up a page from somewhere I or someone else will at least be able to tell you what it is.

    BTW you say internet option is gone from the control panel, is it also gone from the file menu on the top? tools>internet options If you can access it see what it says for the homepage.
