    Hello all..
I'm capturing satellite TV from my receiver via my Cannopus ADVC-100 (S-Video) to DV format using Sony Vegas. Now, I understand that the broadcast comes letterboxed (so there are small black bands above and below video).
After the DV footage is capture I convert it to XivD using Vdub. Now, my question is, how do i remove the letterboxing and view the video full screen without the black bands.
I figure there must be a way to do it between sony vegas and Vdub.
Oh and by the way the DV footage is caputred at 720x480.

Please help me out with this as it's been botherin me for a while now.
    Thanks!!!

You can't remove the black bars and view it full screen without stretching the image vertically and distorting it. If the video was fullscreen, it wouldn't have the black bars in the first place. If you want the bars gone, and a full screen output, you will also have to cut the left and right edges off to keep the aspect ratio correct.

That said, you can do all of this in Vegas, then frameserve to Vdub for compressing to Xvid. Install the Debugmode frameserver for Vegas to frameserve, and read the manual or help files in Vegas for 'Event Pan and Crop' and 'Track Motion'.
