Am interested in a multi-format DVD recorder and am considering either the Sony RDRGX315 or its predecessor which is still available through a number of vendors, the RDRGX300. Both are running around $200.
Any suggestions/recommendations as to which is the better, easier, more reliable version and is so, why specifically?
Am new to DVD and will be converting a number of VHS tapes.
Thanks in advance.

Hey mate,
I've read in quite a few places, Sony DVD Recorders being slagged off.
I've recently bought the Toshiba RD XS-24 and found it to be excellent.
The one problem I've found though is that it wont transfer VHS tapes to DVD. It can't remove the macrovision/copy protection so I will need a Macrovision remover/Video stabilizer/TBC.
If you are wanting to transfer VHS to DVD then make enquiries into whether or not your prospective machine can remove Macrovision or can be hacked to do so.
Good Luck......James....hmmmm....nice.....
