    Hi,

I recently bought my first DVD player, the Toshiba SD4900 model. It came with one 3-jack cable (yellow, red, and white jacks, the yellow one for video and the other two for audio). It is a refurbished set from Overstock.com so I am not sure whether there should have been more cables included if I had bought a brand new model since the DVD player has plenty of other connection ports in the back.

I own a Panasonic PV-C2060 model TV/VCR combo (about 5 or 6 years old). It does have an audio-in and video-in port in the front. I tested the connection to the DVD Player (I could only attach one of the audio jacks), which didn't work.

Does anyone know whether it is because I did the connections wrong or simply because the TV is incompatible with the DVD player?

If I need to get an RF modulator, which model is best factoring in price and performance?

    Thanks very much.

Are you sure there's not a switch or something in the TV menu to select the front in jacks? I would think it would normally expect an input from the internal VCR and you might have to change that.

If the TV is only mono sound, you can get a 'Y' connector to blend the stereo channels to one.

An RF Modulator can be used but the picture quality will be worse.

I fiddled around the TV setting and it worked!

Even though I can only plug in one audio jack...

    THanks!

You can pick up a y-connecter at Radio Shack pretty cheap. You might even find one at a dollar store. That will combine your two audio channels together.

My Parent still has Floor Model of Color TV with electron Tubes and RF input only, that we can't convince him to get it up !
