I have a DVD recorder. Why do i need a separate RF modulator with it? Why don't they include them in the unit, like VCR's? My setup is a NON-HDTV, a RF Modulator, a DVD Recorder, and a DTV converter box. I have to have THREE Things plugged in to record one tv show. Ridiculous!I guess buying a HDTV would knock out the RF modulator, as they include them. Note to self: Buy a HDTV!

Most VCRs had RF de-modulators (tuners) built in. Many DVD recorders don't include them to save money. And because there is no analog broadcast TV anymore. Even most cable sytems are going all digital.
