  1. i just started using dvdshrink to backup MY sopranos' and its just wat i wanted, not caring about extras or menu
    is dvdshrink the best at re-authoring/compression of dvd9 to dvd5 (for wat i need - no menus/extras)
    add - is dvdshrink the best at compressing large dvd movies to fit on a single dvd

    just found the answer above!!!
    dvdrebuilder > worth getting the pro version and why

    Might be worth a quick look at some of the other forum threads.

    You'll find I think that Shrink isn't really compressing your vid, and with episodes not really a lot of reasons to do so anyway. THat's not to say rebuilder isn't a good prog., just pointing out you might want to research a bit.

    Do you mean dvd2one is better quality than DVDRebuilder or DVDShrink, and are you comparing apples to apples, i.e. shrinking same size of files? I would think quality would be a function of amount of shrinking done and media quality too.

    As compared to dvdshrink (yes, it was the same movie). I've never used dvdrebuilder, so I haven't been able to compare that one.

  6. Anyone who has tried them all will say that DVD Rebuilder is the best when it comes to quality, it just takes a while depending on the encoder being used and the number of passes. DVD Shrink is to be used when you cannot spare much time and quality is not an issue and/or the ammountof compression required is not to large. Personally I always use DVD Rebuilder, give it a try with HC Encoder.
