  1. Hey,

I have a video clip in Premiere Pro I'd like to export to WMV 640 x 480 streaming video format. Is there any special settings I should use besides setting the video size to 640 x 480?

    Thanks...

  2. if it's gonna be used for streaming, try and keep the bitrate RELATIVELY low, or else it will cause problems when the end user attempts to play it back (i.e. long buffering times) i'd recommend 350-500k/s for that type of thing....500k may even be pushing it....if your going to be offering the clip for outright download though, you can probably push it up some, if you feel the need to do so, of course......bandwidth is rather expensive, so it's completely up to you and how much web traffic that website generates.....

  3. Thanks for the info...one question though...how did you calculate what kind of bit rate I should use from the video size of 640 x 480?

  4. 640x 480 @ 500kbps probably won't look good(macroblocking),I suggest you make it 320x240.
If you must use 640x480 then I recommend >1000kbps.

    Look to the pros

BMW Films uses 56Kb/s, 100Kb/s, 300Kb/s rates targeted at various capabilities for realtime playback. A download can be anything bounded by file size.

Max realtime view in their evaluation is 300Kb/s @ 440x168

You can push it further if you want.
