    Help:

I have been trying to convert two mpeg (PAL) video streams at 704 x 526 to 704 x 756, which is what another video stream I have is at. Then I can merge all three into one video stream.

I have tried a couple of convertors but when I play back, I get audio but screen is blank.

I am trying to make the 3 compaitble so they can be merged.

Then I want to convert that to a Divx5 so I can merge that with another larger stream I have that is Divx5.

    Thanks

    thanks for your reply

I converted to divx using divx 6.0 converter but there is no control over the resolution and it actually changed it again.

    I have the following:
    Divix6.0
    Tmpeg
    Super DVD Creator
    Advanced X Video Convertor
    Alcohol 120%

Most do not allow me to adjust the resolution. I use Advanced X Video Convertor a lot and most of the time no problems. But when I try to convert either mpeg1 to mpeg1 or mpeg1 to divx5.2 and change the resolution like I mentioned in my posting, I end up with a blank screen

I have virtualdub but have not installed it yet nor ever used it.

It seems that no matter what I have used and no matter what the format conversion is, I have a problem when I try to change the resolution

    Thanks again,

In VirtualDub Mod>Video>Filters>Add>resize.(adjust to new size.) Then encode to Divx.

You definitely want to become familiar with VirtualDub. It's the 'Swiss Army Knife' for AVI videos. VDMod will handle MPEGs and convert to AVI using the selected AVI codec, including Divx or Xvid.

EDIT: When you go to the tool link, there are links to guides near the bottom of the page for using it.

thanks for all your help. I got everything accomplished, but then I ran into one other problem.

I just now noticed that the bigger stream is mp3 audio and the three smaller streams I wanted to merge into one video were pcm audio. Is that going to interfere with the merging?

If so, then I need to change the the audio of the smaller streams to mp3. How do I do that in virtualdub? Do I go to audio, selecte full recompression and then select microsoft pcm under compression?

or do I have to dmux them, recompress the audio and then recombine the video and audio?

    Thanks
