After a serious crash of my Keyboard and Mouse activities, I had to
replace my trusty 5 years, Asus TXP4 motherboard with an
old Tyan S1590S Trinity 100 AT that I had stashed away, and never
opened! (well, maybe once, but just to test it) I've heard people
from other forums talk very highly of this Tyan board. But...
Problem is, this MB, after countless hours (15 I think) and no sleep,
would not boot up, thanks to a bad jumper. But, I got it to work.
Then, when Windows 98 started up, problems again, keyboard and
mouse. All over again! mouse wont be rec. by windows for some
stupid reason or another. Tried fitzing with the cable but nothing
doing. It has a mind of it's own, ...will work today, and not tomorrow.
Now, Windows 98 is looking for drivers for the new MB, but I don't
have 'em around and now that windows went through the motions,
I can no longer get into Windows because I failed the first time around
in suppliying drivers. Now, windows wont sense my mouse and crashes
every time, at the Explorer - give me an Explorer fatal error and bombs
out, never reaching Windows!!
So, I don't know what to do now. I can't even load any of my Norton
Ghost images because they don't work with my new MB - get it?
I'm not sure how to proceed here any further. I have a log of time and
head-ackes invested in this second pc setup and I rely on it for my
internet surfing and this forum for sure!
Does anybody have any suggestoins?
I need to get Windows 98 working again without having to re-install
Windows 98 and all my countless apps and not to meniton, settings and
what not's. If you need Any additional inforamation, please ask!!!
So, I'm asking for a lot of help here!!
Thank you all for your time.
