I have a Epson R200 that I have not used in atleast a year with the original carts still in it that are empty My ? is if I buy new carts or a CIS will the printer still work correctly after sitting for so long or will everything more than likely be either dried or plugged up? I just want a opinion is it worth the time to try to see if it still works or get rid of it and buy a new one?

Chances are the heads are dried up and clogged. It might be recoverable with repeated cleanings, but with the price of printer cartridges it might be a wash to just buy a new printer. The R220s are pretty cheap these days.

I heard you can try windex to clean the dried/clogged head. I will spread some windex after removed the empty ink. after that try the new carts which is not too expensive if you use sub brand name.
