I wonder how to cut some DV AVI video clip.For example I use Canopus HQ codec when I capture video from my DV camera, but now using Virtual Dub to cut part of the video, do I have to save AVI video file with no compression
(720x576) or to use Canopus codec again.When I save with no compression
video clip on it's properties says "no compression" even originaly is captured with codec.But, when I save this video part with codec again, do I'll expect double compression thats afect to video quality.

If you use Direct Stream Copy mode in virtualdub then you will get 1:1 what went in - no extra compression.
This only applies for cuts. If you add any filters then all bets are off.Read my blog here.
