Just wondered if anyone knows if external HDDs work on the USB port? I see that smartdrives/memory sticks work fine, and I saw that one person had an external 250gig drive that it would show the directory but didn't work.
I have a 40gig and 60gig drive and I'm planning to get external enclosures for each, one for video and one for MP3s. Does anyone know which enclosures will work? Also, some enclosures require a power supply and some derive their power from the USB port... hoping to get one that runs off the USB port and wondering if that's what determines if it'll work or not, whether it has it's own power supply.
Side question as well... anyone know if the Player search page will include an option to search for players with USB ports? I see ethernet and memory card slots, but didn't see a search option for USB. I have a Philips DVP642 player now, giving that to the folks and want a player that plays DVD-MP3s, DivX, Multiregion and uses a USB port that can read hard drives... and looking for a cheap one... any suggestions if not the Curtis? I would prefer a better name brand, and black, hate LG though, have had 3 and all broke within a month so just not gonna bother with them again.
Thanks.
