    Most DVD players will allow you to pause during DVD playback and while paused you can watch a television channel. I can not get this panasonic to do that.
    You can pause and watch during recording but not during palyback.
    Any suggestions?

    Yes, change the channel on your TV, not the recorder.

    Here's how to view TV/IN1/IN2/IN3 after the 'Pause' button has been pressed: press the 'Stop' button.

    To resume, press the 'Play' button and it will pickup where your paused it.

    You can also pause this unit by pressing 'Stop' instead of 'Pause'. If you press 'Stop' again, it will enter the view TV/IN1/IN2/IN3 mode (see above). If you press 'Stop' a third time, then the DVD's position will be reset to the begining of the DVD when you press 'Play'.

    Play around with it. It doesn't sound logical but it works!
