I have just downloaded Media Player Classic version 6487.7, but it is not an executable file. How do I get this installed?

The 7z will be a much smaller download. Don't know why they bothered repacking my build as a zip. Perhaps they UPX'ed it?

    1.35MB's as a 7z.
    1.83 with winzip
    1.80 as a zip using 7Zip.
1.55 if you UPX before zipping.

I don't know about that... MPC now seems to want to crash every time if I compress it with UPX. I just tried it with 6.4.8.7, under XP, and it threw up a runtime error.

Of course, there might be a UPX switch or two I'm missing...

Edit: As for packing it as a zip archive rather than a 7z, it's probably just for the sake of those who don't know what a 7Zip file is. I know there are decompressors available for PCs and Macs, but is there one available for Unix or Linux systems? (Just curious.)

Well Gabest used to UPX then zip it.

There are unpackers for linux and other posix OS's (unix, BSD, OSX, etc.)

MPC only runs under windows anyway.
