Is there a tool which can tidy up the squares that are visible when I play the VCD on my Dreamcast?? I don't burn the AVEQ.DAT file onto the disk, I burn the MPEG1 straight on, could this b my problem? or would it b the same as burning the DAT file on?

Galvin,
These "squares" you are referring to are called pixels. The quality of a movie depends on several elements. First and foremost in my opinion is the quality of the original video. "Garbage in, garbage out," as the addage goes. In other words, you're not going to get any better than your original file. Secondly, the program you use to encoder the movie might play a role in the final result. Try using TMPGEnc and play around with the settings. If you'd like, you might want to use a higher bitrate. Lastly, the kind of player you use determines the quality of the picture. I don't know much about the Dreamcast console as a VCD player, but you might want to try using a standalone DVD player or your computer to see if playback improves.
