  1. I'm wanting to take an MPEG file burn it to a VCD and ensure it plays over and over in the DVD player without having to manually restart the disk. This would be a slideshow MPEG file that I will create.

Is there any software available that will create an endless/continuous loop VCD for play in the DVD player?

Any and all inputs are welcome. Thanks!

Any of the major VCD apps will do that...
    VCDEasy
    TCVD
    VCDWizard
    VCDImager
    Phillips VCD 2 Toolkit
    Nero
    WinOnCD
    VideoPak
maybe even EZCD Creator (prob only deluxe version)

The trick is to use PBC and set the items # of loops to infinite (often called -1).

Even without this, you could probably get any DVD player to loop ANY disc--authored correctly or not--by using the player's REPEAT function.

How does one actually do that in Nero 6? I can't find any reference to PBC.

    Thanks

  4. I finally managed to find out for myself. I used VCDeasy which has an option to "play forever". I didn't install CDRDAO but burnt the image with Nero.

The last free version of VCDeasy worked fine and can be downloaded https://www.videohelp.com/download/VCDEasy_v1.1.5.2_Setup.exe

Nero will do it. Let me see if I can find the darn option... I'll have to post from another computer. Nero's not installed on my new PC yet (which is this one)

Edit: Nero won't do it directly. What you have to do is create a menu of 0 duration on a VCD. Let it generate that automatic menu, just put some title words in. Set it to ZERO duration instead of infinite, then set the pause between tracks to zero. The result *should* be what you're looking for, or close enough.

...but if you let Nero create a menu, chances are the VCD wont play at all. I speak from personal experience here. VCDEasy is the tool to use for VCD authoring, as you've already discovered.
