I generally don't. I mean its all kind of hoky and selfserving. And most of the stuff I like never gets recognized. And the speeches are stupid or drag on forever.

No. never. I just make fun of them. :P
(Of course, I might feel different if I were up for an award.)

I watch the Oscars and MTV Movie Awards, that's about it. I tivo it though, so I can skip the boring parts.

  4. I sometimes watch them to see what blowhards that are in control of the industry say about piracy.

A couple of years ago, the head of the music industry said that piracy was the downfall of the western civilization.

I watch the Academy Awards (Oscars) only. No others. I voted "sometimes".

My wife and I always watch live, but that's a good idea about tivoing it (if that's a word). The interesting part could easily be cut down to an hour and a half. I wish we could skip the boring bits, but she wants to watch live. We use the boring parts to do our regular household chores like washing dishes, taking out the trash, getting the kids to bed, etc.

Yes and no. If one is on and the ole lady has the buttons I am doomed. So I will sometimes sit through one. She thinks that we are spending "Quality time" together, when in real life I am hoping for a wardrobe malfunction. Another ploy of mine is the country music shows. My wife gets all reved up over the hunka hunka country boys and gives great masages during those shows. But I think that she is starting to catch on to my motives for watching TV at all.
IS IT SUPPOSED TO SMOKE LIKE THAT?
