growing weary with nero

I just installed Nero 7. I converted all my home videos to mp4 clips. I went to burn the mp4 to DVD and I get "Unable to Prepare date for recording" error. How can I fix this?

Ive tried exporting my mp4 clips using nero to mpeg2, but no luck there either. Ive used countless programs, TMPGEnc, FilmExpress and many more.

What are my options? If I start all over again, what should I use to make home dvd into clips?

what is your source format??? if dvd then use something like tmpgenc dvd author to edit and reauthor a new dvd.

Ive tried reauthoring with DVDshrink, but it doesnt like the my discs.

But using TMPGenc dvd author seems like it will work, but still would like clips on my computer, so I can burn different clips to different people. Id rather have a free version as well. The trial version of tmpgenc dvd author doesnt support dolby digital.
