Hello I have a ATI All in Wonder that I can record Satilite to the hard drive. Now how can I record it to DVD? I just want to go strait to the DVD. Is this possible with little effort or should I just buy an stand alone DVD recorder? Thanks
    Thanks stinkfist

Not possible with AIW and ATI software. Realtime burning would be difficult to implement on a computer without buying everything new.

Better to get a DVD recorder if that is what you want to do.

There is hardware and software available to do just about anything you want, however the one step method you're talking; If I understand your question right, about is best accomplished with just getting a standalone DVD Recorder..Other ways of doing it mean capturing it to your hard drive and then re-authoring it with a program to make it into a file format capable to be burned onto the blank DVD.. in other words, making the file you capture to your Hard drive DVD compliant......Look at the file structure on a basic single layer DVD.. it has VOB, IFO, BUP, etc files...Then look at the format that your Capture device has stored the recorded subject matter onto your Hard drive..most likely it's in MPEG or AVI file format, hence these have to be converted over to the dvd complaint file structure.........
I have an ATI AIW 9800 pro, a ADS USB Instant DVD capture device, a Hi-Pix capture card, and a Panasonic E80H DMR with a built in Hard drive..Without a question or hesitation, I use the Panasonic...One step, easy, convienent..record what I want off DirecTV to the Panasonic's HD, then stick a blank DVD in, and record it onto it.. Bingo..Done....And it doesn't tie up my PC during the process either..

The AIW won't realtime compress without MMC software. Realtime compression to DVD would require a superfast computer using a AIW.

A DVD recorder does all this in specialized hardware.
