  1. I have a panasonic dvx100b and i have been frameserving the AVI into CCE but cce doesnt appear to detect it as 24P like most other programs. I was just wondering what are the correct AUDIO and VIDEO settings to select when encoding a "24p" dvd on cce. I do realize that its "internally 29.9" but i still would like to know the options to keep it progressive etc. I guess im just lost in the process. (i can do normal pal/ntsc stuff fine and my knowlege of the program is pretty good) Any help is apreciated.

    thanks in advance

You don't need to deinterlace, ever, when the target is DVD. If it is progressive, it will be dealt with at playback time. If it is interlaced, deinterlacing will only destroy it.

Which version of CCE are you using ?

In 2.70 there is a deinterlacing preprocessing option - don't use it.

Also, in the picture quality tab, set IDC precision to 10 bits, black scan order to alternate, and tick the Progressive Frame box.

Just a little correction, the correct block scan order to use for progressive encoding is zigzagg not alternate. Also the DC precision setting is something that you must set according to the bitrate you use. Unless you have a very high bitrate you actually should not use 10. I'd just use CCE's automatic setting and it will choose an appropriate value based on bitrate settings and complexity of the source.
