Pinnacle studio 9.4 won't burn dvd!

I've got the latest update. I spent a whole day making a dvd project out of my dv camera footage. Now, it's ready to burn to DVD. I go to 'setup', 'make disc', and see the settings are for 132 minute dvd. (My project is 112 minutes)
It shows my DVD recorder in the 'recorder device' and I've got a DVD-R in the drive, which also shows in the 'media' menu. When I hit okay, NOTHING HAPPENS. I don't get a busy signal, or error message, and it doesn't hang. Just nothing. I've tried all the other options for making a movie: burn to svcd, mpeg file, create disc content only, avi file. Nothing happens. Now I've got a project file that I've sweatede over, that can't be burned in any other dvd program, and I'm pissed.

I've also uninstalled pinnacle and the update completely, and reinstalled. It shows I've got version 9.4. Same thing: can't burn a thing.

I've searched the net for this particular problem and found nothing.
