i just wanted to know which writing drive will allow me to burn a DVD-R DL. i read the tech-specs of some of the dual layered DVD writing drives, but all said that they burn DVD+R DL..no one said that it burns DVD-R DL too.. frgive me for my ignorance, but could anyone help me with that?.

DVD+R DL came out first. And some drives only do DVD+R DL and not the newer DVD-R DL. The DVD+R DL seemingly works a bit better than DVD-R DL right now.
Of course SL is opposite, DVD-R edges out DVD+R by a bit.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

Here is some information on the difference of +R/-R discs. Basically -R DL is still new and not supported in all drives yet.
