Sorenson Squeeze 4.2 religiously stops converting at 99%?

I've just upgraded to Sorenson Squeeze Suite v4.2.301.6 in the hope that this might fix the "99% blockade", but no such luck.
I've tried converting a 70MB avi to all kinds of formats but everything grinds to a halt when the progress meter gets to 99%. It just sits there and the only way out is to press Stop.
On playback of the resulting 99% file, the video part appears fine but the audio, in the last 25% of playback, starts to "loop" a short and repeating audio segment until the end.

Can anyone help me out with this one please?

The Fix: I'll pass this on in case it helps others with the same Sorenson 99% bug.
Do a search for ac3filter.ax on your C drive. Cut and paste all instances to another drive/partition. Usually it lives in C:\Windows\System32. It is typically brought in by other apps such as The Film Machine etc. Look at ac3filter.ax's Properties to find out where it originates from.

After ac3filter.ax is moved, Sorenson Squeeze performs flawlessly to 100% on my system. It's...it's...just like Christmas
