  1. I'm new to burning movies, I have figured out the basics, ripping and burning, I have also figured out how to download but now how do I convert and or burn these files? I'm using nero softwere and it only lets be burn to a VCD and I would prefure burning to a DVD, any help would be greatfully appreciated. thanks in advance.

    If the movies you are downloading are copyrighted video you do not own them and discussing them would be a violation of the rules here as they would be considered warez.

    Warez includes downloaded copyrighted movies, movies that are not yet released on VHS/DVD and copying rented movies.
    Some videos you can download are in the public domain and you are allowed to freely download and make copies of them.

    What file extension do they have, .wma, or .avi, or .mpeg or other? That determines which programs to use. You can look to the left under 'CONVERT' for some guides, depending on their file format.

    For simple, try DivxToDVD if it will accept the format. There is a freeware version available. Or the better way is using individual programs, an encoder, and a authoring program if you want to end up with a higher quality DVD.
