in many authoring prog you create chapters, then prog has option to create chapter menu -- takes care of most stuff for you.

This is basically just a movie clip in itself. In authoring software that does this for you, it just places a clip there and then renders a movie for the menu. You can easily do this yourself using any good editor, such as Premiere etc.

You have a lot of reading to do, but don't seem to be will to put any effort in to discover anything yourself. You need to understand the fundamentals, or you will never be able to do anything for yourself.

A motion menu is just a video clip with buttons on it. You create the video clip, put it in the background in Encore, then add buttons - be they frames or arrows or whatever. It is the buttons, not the videos, that people click on.

There are tutorials here on picture in picture and video walls that you can learn from. Apply these techniques to create your menu background.

There are also some Encore tutorials, including a motion menu, so you don't have to think too hard.

Search these forums or use Google. It might take a couple of tries to find exactly what you need, using different words.
