Following an accidental format of a hard drive, I've managed to recover my video clips using a data recover program. However, one file which I have recovered is acting strange:

It's a 733Mb wmv file made with movie maker which plays from start to finish without a problem, but I cannot jump forward or back.

I've tried to re-encode it using moveie maker but it crashes at the same spot about 4 mins into the clip, as does TMPGEnc when I try to encode it to mpg. Vegas just sees black and ASF tools stops immediately after trying to either encode or convert.

Any suggestions for repairing or converting the file?
    Regards,

    Rob

Sounds like an indexing problem maybe ?

ASFTools has been pretty good to me in repairing WMV or ASF files.
    If in doubt, Google it.
