  1. i want to convert this mpg to dvd ready mpg through tmpgenc xpress.
    should i encode this to 352x480 or 720x480?
    video bitrate?
    i dont want to mess with the audio at all if that's possible.

    Yep your frame rate is 25fps. That is PAL.

    You have to do the pal-ntsc conversion.

    There are guides here for that.

    Try 704x480. That is legal dvd spec and won't stretch it more than you need to.

  3. thx, what about the audio? can i isolate it without losing quality and just load it in tmpgenc dvd author?

    virtualdub-mpeg2 can be used to demux the audio for use later.

    You can use you original file as the audio source for TDA, no need to demux or isolate. Just point to it after loading the new video.

    But then as you haven't filled in your location we have no idea if you are in PAL land or NTSC land. If in PAL land all the answers you have received so far are totally wrong.

    To keep it as PAL, just re-encode at 352 x 576 with a bitrate of around 3500 - 4000 kbs.
