I just replaced my Plextor 708 with the LG burner, because the 708 had a lot of problems with burning and formating rewritables. Now, my Philips dvdplayer has problems reading the rewritables the LG writes. My other player (Nextbase) has no problem reading them.
My question is if there is a setting or something in Nero for example to make the rewritables also compatible with the Philips player ? I allready used different writing-speeds, but that didn't help.
Also, maybe I should update my firmware ? How can I find the firmware for the LG in XP ?

There isn't a setting. A firmware upgrade *might* fix things, or it might make them worse, or most probably have no effect.
I would try a different brand of disc first. Unfortunately, there is no universal combination of writer and disc that is 100% compatable in all situations.Read my blog here.
