    Hi all,

I'm using Clonedvd2 and Any DVD to burn Movs, but talking to a friend I mentioned it took over 50 minutes at 6X to create the image and burn a 4.7g DVD.

To rip from 15-20 minutes and to burn it a bout 25-35 minutes.

Clone DVD makes an image a leaves it at a temp. folder and then it burns it to the DVD.

My PC is in the DMA.

He told me he was using Nero and it was close to half (or less ) of the time... is this acurate?

I have a dell Pentium 4 with 512 of memory and have at least 20G of the hard drive available. Can somebody tell me what am I doing wrong?

    PS - Yes! I am a newbie.

If your movie is 120 min., then it seems like 120min (2hr. movie)/6 = 20min. (not far off your burn rate). The rip rate will depend on the transfer rate from your source drive to your hard-drive (and, I suppose, on your CPU). Are the specs. on your friend's comp. the same as yours?

Is CloneDVD also transcoding as it goes (i.e. shrinking the movie to fit ?) ? If so, this is about right.

A better option is to rip the HDD using something like DVD Decrypter (you have anyDVD, so arcoss isn't an issue), then run cloneDVD2 on the files on the HDD, then burn. I can rip a 7.6gb DL disc in around 8 minutes, and burn it in 14 (4 speed). Anything inbetween is trasncoding (or re-encoding, depending what I choose to do).

Yesterday I backed up Phantom of the Opera (it was for my wife, okay!) and it took 1 hour 10 minutes!!!!! From rip + burn.

I will try to do the DVD decrypter thing Gun mentioned, I will let you know what happened.

    Thanks for your input!
