I am using the huggy codec for the video and for audio I am using the ac3 acm codec. When I select audio compression FOR AC3 ACM

WHAT HZ SHOULD I USE? MONO, STEREO....

I will be playing the movie in my home dvd player.

  4. You should use VirtualDubMod instead of VirtualDubMPEG2. VirtualDubMPEG2 will perform 3:2 pulldown creating interlaced video from your nice progressive source. Mod will leave the frames progressive.

48khz probably start with 384. Though you could go as low as 256 or as high as 448.

Do you mean the HuffyUV codec? And you have a Divx DVD player? If so, why not the Divx codec, or am I missing something?

Yes I do mean HuffyUV. Missed spelled.

Not sure if I have a DIVX dvd player.

I have a family video in a dvd but I want to import to adobe premiere pro.

I used virtualdub mpeg2 before and it created one avi file and one wav audio file.

Now virtualdub mpeg2 only creates one avi file with no audio file.
Is there a audio setting I need to change in virtualdub mpeg2?

But when I import the avi file to premiere pro, only the first 15 seconds have audio.

    Help,,,,,,,,,,

OK, I'm not an expert with Adobe Premier Pro, but I can tell you that I wouldn't convert the format to AVI. APP should be able to handle the file without conversion. Check the information included with the program.

It sounds like you have a DVD with the files you want to work with. You can extract the VOBs to MPEG video with a program like VOB2MPG. Then you should be able to edit the files with APP.

If you want to work with AC3 video, that's a whole different subject. Especially with multichannel AC3.

Thats correct I have a dvd movie, and I want to extract the vob files.

    I will try vob2mg.

From what I have heard in this great forum, that the best video quality
is to convert my vob's file to avi, and then import the fiiles to premiere pro.

I just want to create a video file and audio file and edit my movie in premiere pro.

    thanks for your help.

    just trying to learn............

I think you will find Premiere Pro will struggle with mpeg files. DV-AVI is the best format for PP, followed by something lossless if you must. DV will take up less space though. If you must edit in mpeg, either get the mainconcept mpeg editing plugin for PP, or use a dedicated mpeg editor such as VideoRedo or Womble Mpeg VCR
