  1. I'm using TMPGENC (the latest version) and I wanted to encode a quicktime file (.mov) to a VCD NTSC encoded mpg file. TMPGENC says the format is unsupported and won't encode when it says it does encode .mov files. I went to see if I needed some plug-in through the guides on this site but I ran into a broken link under quictime plug-ins for problems in conversion to VCD using TMPGENC guide. Is there something I can change so I can encode this file or is all hope lost?

  2. You'll find the plug-in over at http://www.doom9.net/

Click on "downloads" then click on "main software page" at the top. The plug-in is listed under the 'encoders' section

  4. put the file in the same dir as TMPGenc and then open tmpgenc and go to the settings and put a check by the mov plugin... should then work

Is it just me, or when you try to convert mov to avi, it says ILLEGAL FLOATATION... or some shit like that?

  7. Is there a certain title I should look for to check off? Because I don't see any obvious quicktime plug-in check box. Or maybe I'm looking under the wrong tab in settings.

  8. and I'm also getting that illegal decimal calculation as well. I went to apple.com and made an account and didn't really know what name the file went as in the download list. Is it in the archive?

  9. .......does anyone know how to check off the quicktime option in tmpgenc?? Because the qt plug-in that i have, that i got from that doom site posted earlier, is not the newest because i'm getting an illegal floating decimal.

  10. I believe the TMPGenc plug-in only works for QT4 and under. If the QT mov you're using was made with QT5, it won't work right. Other times, the audio track of the QT movie is protected, and needs to be recorded seperately with a program like TotalRecorder (excellent program). Try RadTools to convert the video to AVI, and merge with TMPGenc for a nice, mangaeable mpg.

  11. mijman,

I followed the tutorials under How To> Convert for .mov to VCD. However, when I used Rad Tools, the resulting video had no audio. So I downloaded Total Recorder (as you and the tutorial said), but whenever I attempt to record the audio from the Quicktime video, the audio plays very choppy and won't play correctly. I then exit Total Recorder and then the audio plays fine again. Do you know something that I can do?
