  1. Lol, I havnt visited these forums for some years now, but I'm back as I need help from the experts!

I have been recording video in raw Avi format from games I play using FRAPS.

However, I would like to merge all these together, to make an impressive movie of my video games experience.

Everyone who I talk to has been using Adobe Premier, now not only does the trial of this program fail to start up - some QuickTime error I have... :/

But, the full version of this app is just too darned expensive. Is there an app that does the same or more cheaper, preferably Free?

    Thanks for the help

You can get good quality professional software at pretty good prices, as long as you are willing to buy one or two versions back. I use Adobe Premiere 6.5, which is very good software, and I got it with an ADS Pyro Firewire card for a total of $40.00. I got my version of Vegas 5 for around the same price. Vegas 5 is still one of the best video solutions for mid - pro level. There are many other very good softwares at reasonable prices, if you simply buy previous versions, and watch for sales or deals. You can also get good deals on the newest and best softwares if you have a kid in school, by buying the Academic versions.

  5. I found this on http://www.nonags.com/nonags/grvid.html. It's called "t@b ZS4 Video Editor" and it's listed in the "Video Tools - Freeware" section.

I haven't tried it myself so I can't comment on it, but it might be worth looking into.

    Here's the description from nonags.

t@b ZS4 is a multi-track video editing and compositing system with more than 100 built-in video effects including excellent color and chroma keying tools, distortion effects, color adjusters, pattern generating effects and many others.

Other features include custom video export size, number of tracks and sub-composites limited only by available memory, custom speed and direction change for video and audio, optional super-sampled compositing during export for better quality rotation and zoom, and the ability to slave effect and compositing controls to audio wave forms.

Input is primarily avi, wav, and image files. Output includes avi, wav, jpg, png, bmp.

ZS4 is also available for Linux. For downloads and more information visit http://www.zs4.net.
    Hope this helps you.
