  1. I have a Sony DRU 810A drive. I am using DVD Decrypter to make the ISOs. I also used it to write and it worked but there are parts in the movies where it skips in all my DVD players (like there is a major scratch on the disc) but there is no scratch. This happened with Verbatim DVD+R DL discs. And once with a single layer disc. I just recently used ImgBurn to write the ISO for Pleasantville but the disc doesn't even play on my XBOX and barely plays on my other players and even when it does, there is a major skipping problem in the very first scene. But when writing the ISOs to disc, there are no reports of burn errors. And no reports of read errors when ripping the discs. AND the ISO's play fine on the computer where they skip on the DVD so there must be something wrong with the writing process. I have updated the firmware for the drive so that isn't the problem.
Is or has anyone else had a problem similar to this one? Are there alternate programs that can burn ISO's decently that I could use (I don't care if you have to pay for them). Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Do the discs play properly on the pc? If they do, then most likely your other players do not like the brand/type of media that you are using. If they do not, then I expect you are having a burning issue which could be caused by your pc, burning software, or the burner.

Verbatims are the best dl discs out there right now. It's possible that during the burning process there was a buffer underrun, for brief periods.I used to get this burning single layer discs every now and again. When i defragmented the hard drive, the burn would be ok.It might be the burner running out of data for microseconds during burning.Auto Disc defrag tools,a second hard drive,a faster pc.It could be any of these.
I burn dl discs on a regular basis. No skipping,no layer change problems.
