    Hi,

Have searched extensively and may be blind but don't seem to be able to
find the system requirements for SVCD2DVD anywhere. Can someone
    post them? Thanks!

And noticed somewhere that a 700MB avi becomes a 3Gb DVD. Sorry for
my obvious ignorance here, but what does this mean for avi's that are 6 Gb?

Looks like the exact software I've been searching for / dreaming of and
this forum is a great resource. Thanks all for contributing! Will be registering today.

.NET is required, judging by your posted system specs, you won't get much speed from that processor, you don't have nearly the necessary HD space. You need ~4.5GB for the DVD files, the same for the converted files and space for your original AVI or MPG files, minimum of 15GB is what I would recommend. I don't think you're nearly "up to speed" for this type of conversion.

Duration dependant, not file size dependant.

System requirements are (like Jikchung says) .Net 1.1 SP1

So that is Win 98+ (i think).

    Recommend bits are:

Plenty of HD space (many GB spare) - depending on what you are doing with the software.

NTFS File system or you run into FAT/FAT32 file size limitations.

Faster CPU the better - but there are users on PIII!!

More RAM the better: depends on your OS but at least 128MB i would guess.

    Fast, defragged hard drives.

So what is your PC spec?
    SVCD2DVD v2.5, AVI/MPEG/HDTV/AviSynth/h264->DVD, PAL->NTSC conversion.
VOB2MPG PRO, Extract mpegs from your DVDs - with you in control!

    Thanks guys!

The specs I entered on registration were for an archaic computer I was on at the time. Not the system I use for DVD editing -80Gb HD, 2.6 Ghz CPU, etc, etc., so should be fine.

Thanks for the link to file size info. I have about 75 minutes of avi (about 15GB I think) so should be fine. I'll experiment and see what the quality is like.

    Thanks again.
