I added a Pioneer 110 (FW 1.37) to my system as the main burner, and am now using my Pio 108 (FW 1.10) to play (replacing a crappy Lite-On 1633S). What I find weird is that the 110 won't burn my TDK 8X media at 12x, yet the Pio 108 does.
Also, the 110 will burn my 8X TY up to 12X and my MIJ Maxell up to 12X - while my 108 will burn the TY up to 12X and the Maxell up to 16X - really weird!
FYI, there was no change when I updated the original FW. Any ideas? Not a big deal, just curious.

This is not weird at all as most firmware will only burn media at the rated speeds. The only media of yours I would consider good at over rated speeds is TY. Just because it can be done does not mean that the burn will be quality.
I would guess that later versions of the 110 firmware will speed things up.Still a few bugs in the system...
