Try switching to frame accurate editing.

  3. I did switch to accurate setting but it is not giving me a clean edit.I am getting parts of commercial still in there when i stopped at the point i wanted.I even tried to edit a rewritable disc and had blurred parts of commercial still in my show.I used the slow buttons and pause to get to my edit point but its not working fort some reason. Can this machine actually stop precise because i have had no luck so far.

I do not understand what you mean by "accurate setting". Can you verify the setting you edit from?

Disc Navigator (HDD) > Edit > Erase Section, Divide or Chapter Edit > Frame Accurate Editing

You should be able to select the exact frame to start from.

Do Not select Video Mode Compatible Editing for precision editing.

I can not find a Delete function so I assume you mean Edit and your are choosing Frame Accurate and Not Video Mode.

Try editing another program on the Hard Drive in Frame Accurate style. Using the remote, you should be able to STEP/SLOW through the frames and cut the entire commercial out.

Copying some video to the computer and editing in TMPGEnc, I can see where a Video Mode edit points fall into parts of commercials.

Using a Copy List will preserve the content on the Hard Drive and make the cuts/edits on the DVD. This may require the output to the DVD to be encoded (again).

  7. I did manage to edit using the frame accurate mode on the hrd drive. It still had problems i dont like. The transitions seems to take a pause and also audio commentary is lost for a few words it seems.Even backing up into blank commercial space is not doing it on this machine.I use to own a sharp dvd recorder which could edit and have seemless points. You couldnt even tell where they were. For example i recorded wrestling last night and practicied editing the commercials so heres whats happening.Theres a warning before wrestling starts saying This program contains coarse language nudity and not recommended for minors.well when i edit the commercial out before it and stop about four or five seconds before the warning i notice it starts with the fouth or fifth word in the warning.I am wondering if there is a delay in this recorder because i want to figure this out.I am using those slow pause buttons moving as much into the previous black space as i can not to edit the stuff i want.

I would contact Pioneer and see what their tech support says. There may be a problem with the machine.
