Heads up. They were on sale last week at Office Max and they're on sale this week at Best Buy. My local BB has around 20 boxes - picked up 2.

I made that thread so deals like this can be posted in there so it's easier to find current deals.

Has anyone tried to play these back on a Pioneer stand alone DVD recorder? I have the DVR-531H-s model.

I will be burning on a Pioneer 108 computer burner.

About time to get my feet "wet" now that the price point is decent (I can live with $2.00 per disc).

We don't have another one, do we? Until we do, and until it's better, I'll be calling it the 'official' Verbatim Dual Layer DVD Thread ;)

I have the Pioneer 533H-s (same as the 531 but w/firewire input) and it does play the Verbatim DVD+R DL discs, both with and without DVD-ROM bitsetting, no worries.

I've got the pioneer 563A and it playes the +R DLs with no problem. If I use copytodvd it plays straight through the layer break with no hiccup at all but results vary on other players. If I use RecordNow Max 7.3 it hangs for a split second at the layer break but is more compatible with other players. Pick your poison.
