Are you wanting this DVD to play on a DVD player? Or are you just wanting to burn the edited movie to DVD media in its native format?

If it is the latter you export as a Final Cut movie and burn that to a data DVD with Disk Utility or Toast. You'll get about 20 minutes of DV-source video on a DVD that will be playable with QuickTime on a computer.

If you want something that plays in a DVD player then you must use a DVD authoring application which will encode the video to MPEG 2 and organize it in a way that meets the video DVD spec. Some picture-quality loss is unavoidable with MPEG encoding. Toast 7, by the way, has an option to encode and author a menuless video DVD.
