    Full Processing Mode. Select a compression method (codec) and set the bitrate accordingly. If you need more detail that this then you need to go to the guides section (Menu to your left), and start reading.

  5. Video -> Full Processing mode

    Video -> Compression

    Select Xvid MPEG 4 codec, press Configure

    Select Encoding type: TwoPass 1st pass

    Save as AVI

    Video -> Compression

    Press Configure

    Select Encoding type: TwoPass 2nd pass
    Under the Encoding Type label is a button. If it says Targe Bitrate press it to make it say Targe Size. Enter the size you want. Remember the size is only the size of the video -- it doesn't include the audio.

    Save as AVI again.

  7. If you don't plan to use any filtering you can use Video Fast Recompress rather than Full Processing Mode.

    XVid doesn't know anything about audio -- that's why it size setting doesn't include audio. Just subtract the audio size from the total file size to get the video size for Xvid.

    Depending on the audio of your source you might be able to use Direct Stream Copy for the audio. For example if it's 128 kbps CBR MP3 audio you can leave it as is. Switch to Audio Full Processing mode if you want to reencode with different settings. VBR isn't recommended.

    You should keep all settings the same for the first and second pass. There are a some settings you can change but I wouldn't bother.
