ffmpeggui to AC3. As you've found out, MP3 isn't a valid audio format for DVD.

    Besweet ... simple

Audio should be converted to wav at 48khz , use audiocity .

In besweet , click folder next to input , locate wav .
    Hit button "ac3 & ogg" , choose ac3 encoding options .

    I use 96kbps , create 5.1 ac3 .

Hit button "wav to ac3" wait .

    Close besweet when done .

96Kbps? Yikes! That's kind of low. The original poster might (or might not) want to use a higher value. I prefer 224 myself.

For AC3 I find 192 is no different from the original and 96 is too low to even consider. Why bother giving up that much sound quality for a few kbps?

192 - 224 is enough for 2 channels, but too low for 5.1, IMO
