Hello All, I looked in all the forums here but was unable to find the exact answer I was looking for. I solved my problem, so I thought someone else might need a solution for this audio mishap.

A:Problem was that the audio was cutting in and out every 2-3 seconds.
B:Source was an AVI movie downloaded off the net.
C:Hardware and software: Mac iBook 700Mhz G3, 30 gig avail, 640mram, using ffmpegX,popcorn,toast.

My first try to convert to dvd was using DVD mpeg2enc (which I have used with success in the past). It failed so I fixed the avi and tried again. The video came out fine but audio had problem. Next I tried DVD ffmpeg encoding which was much faster(@10 hours instead of just over a day) but the result was the same. I then did it and un checked the {normalization} on the audio preferences, same story--

The final solution came when I encoded using ffmpeg and set audio preference to passthrough then with a video_ts folder (this had the same audio prob) and a .mpg file I dumped the video_ts folder in the garbage and demuxed the .mpg which gave me a .m2v and a .mp3 file.
I took the .mp3 and encoded it to a .ac3 (audio file to ac3) then muxed the .ac3 and .m2v authoring a new video_ts folder. I then checked it on DVD player 4.6.1(mac) if it works on that it will play on anything then i burned it w/Popcorn----It was the forth dvd i burned in the avi to dvd fiasco but this one was perfect.

I hope this will be of some help to somebody,
Cheers, Glynn
