    I have a Sony DRU-720A. So far I have only burned single layer 4.7GB discs. Does anyone know if this DVD writer is capable of burning dual layer 9GB DVDs? Sorry for the naive question. I checked the writers section but did not see this specified and am probably asking it wrong too

    Yes, its capable of dual layer burning.

    And the capacity of dual layer is more like approx 7.95GB.
