    What was the OP's Question?

    They're both available (but DL+R moreso). They both work. They both have problems in some players? They both are a whole hell of a lot slower than their SL counterparts.

    Cost? Look around in your area and do a Google search...

    I've noticed that if a particular player has a problem with DVD-r DL it also has problems with DVD+r DL and vice versa. Oddly enough it seems to be the more expensive models which stutter on these discs or refuse to play them.
