does anybody know if one exists?
I tried a hack that said press 7 twice on the remote, then enter. but it didn't seem to work.

It should already be off.
I have the previous Model the Mico A980s and the macrovision was already off on it.
Are you sure you followed the guide correctly when trying to input the code. -
I found the hack on another site. here it is:
with the disc tray open, type in:
2 9 1 8
press Enter
then go to the second page of the menu and highlight 'Macrovision'.
press Enter twice and it will change the setting to 0 (ie. off)
press Setup
