I've heard a few times in the past that DVDs authored on standalones have flawed IFOs, causing issues searching the disc in some players (like my old Apex AD-1500). Why is this? It doesn't seem like it would be that hard for the manufacturers to fine-tune the authoring.
Also, is the searching problem still prevalent with newer players or is it pretty much gone with companies trying to ensure compatibility between their players and recorders?
